It was the year 1976. We were three friends working in a British Multinational company in Calcutta. I had a dream of setting small scale industries. My other two friends wanted to go for higher studies in Sweden and England respectively.

Our intentions were clear and it so happened that circumstances were created for opportunities for each one of us but we had to grasp them and work under uncertainty towards our goals. I moved to Delhi and within a few days met my classmate who also was trying to set up a small scale powerpoint factory in India. I had no knowledge of powerloom weaving industry but within 15 days of observing one and with a team of 2 more technians I lead the team to set up a factory in the Kilimanjaro Region of Tanzania on deputation of the National Small Industries Corporation of India. Subsequently we formed our own team and exported 20 units to Tanzania over 5 years.
