For a mother, the best day in her life is the birth of her child. I was very excited to welcome a baby girl in our family. However, as soon as she was born, the nurses took her away into an incubator. I was told she had swallowed her meconium and it had gone into her lungs. I was in a state of shock, but I was sure she will be fine. The next morning the hospital pediatrician came to see me, & told me that my little will probably not survive. He handed me a report that said she was not able to breathe on her own and was not responding to the antibiotics. I became numb. Everyone around was talking to me, but I could only hear sounds. I was not able to comprehend anything. I got up & went to the ICU, where this precious angel was laying inside the incubator. I put my finger inside & put it on her little hand & she grabbed it. I knew at that moment, she's a fighter. I started talking to her, & telling how much her mom, dad, & brother loves her. Telling her that she cannot do that to us. She has to fight. I don't know how long I sat there talking to her. Next day morning a specialist came to see her & told me it's a miracle. She's responding to the antibiotics & will soon be able to breathe on her own. Today she's 18 & still a fighter. Never give up in life. Always believe in yourself & have faith in your prayers. Miracles happen everyday.
